Farmers’ Seed Network at UNFCCC COP 30
The Farmers’ Seed Network (FSN) will participate in the UNFCCC COP 30 in Belém, Brazil, to share community-driven experiences on climate resilience, agricultural biodiversity, and farmer seed systems. Building on long-term work with Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs), FSN will highlight how locally adapted seeds, traditional knowledge, and community-led conservation strengthen climate adaptation and support more resilient food systems.
At COP 30, FSN aims to advocate for stronger recognition of agricultural biodiversity within global climate policy, promote the inclusion of IPLCs in decision-making processes, and showcase practical pathways—such as community seed banks, participatory plant breeding, and nature-based solutions—that link climate action with biodiversity protection and local livelihoods.
